About him
If I had to describe myself in a nutshell, I'd say that I am a bit "Old School". I've been lucky enough to have lived a full and interesting life. I've done more than most people and achieved what I wanted academically, and these days I spend much of my time writing books, covering everything from non-fiction to fiction. Writing keeps me curious, and there's always another idea waiting to be explored. I do the odd painting sometimes. Now for the violins. Three years ago I lost my partner to breast and lung cancer. Then my mum died whilst I was in Brazil so it's just me these days. And that doesn't bother me because I have spent most of my life alone. For sure, my life has changed, but it hasn't taken away my optimism. I still wake up looking forward to what the day might bring. I might go for a jog in the countryside when the early morning mist is still hugging the ground and before the savage sun takes over. Then in the afternoon I do my weight training. Then I will do some facial exercises. Did you know that you are eight times more attractive when you smile!
I don't take myself too seriously, and I can be a bit childish in the best possible way. I love to laugh and believe that a good sense of humor is one of life's greatest assets. In a world that seems to have gone mad, I'd much rather share a smile than an argument.
I'm not chasing wealth or fame anymore. I've learned that neither guarantees happiness. And we all know that money can't buy you love. What matters to me is enjoying life, appreciating the people around me, and making the most of every day. I've always believed that luck plays a part in life—but making your own luck helps too.
If you're looking for someone who's really positive, easy-going, enjoys good conversation, doesn't mind laughing at himself, and is genuinely content with where life has taken him, then we might just get along.

I like mentally strong women. I’m attracted to women who are intelligent in the way they think, speak, and see the world. Curiosity is also attractive, and I love conversations that can bounce from something genuinely meaningful to something completely ridiculous without either of us missing a beat. A bit of wildness wouldn't go amiss and someone who is shall we say FREE-SPIRITED.
Obviously chemistry matters too, but I’m far more interested in someone who’s naturally comfortable in her own skin than someone trying to impress everyone else. The biggest attraction is getting to know someone and finding they become even more interesting over time.
A great sense of humour is non-negotiable. If you can laugh at yourself, enjoy a bit of quick-witted banter, and occasionally tell me I’m being an idiot (when I deserve it), we’ll probably get on well.
Above all, I admire kindness. Someone who treats people well, communicates openly, and makes life feel lighter rather than more complicated.
I am not looking for a BARBIE but if you're also intelligent, funny, emotionally mature, and genuinely decent, there's a good chance we'll have plenty to talk about.
