About him
I'm a laid back type, happy to go with the flow but also very driven at times too. Although I've reached a major milestone in years I still have much to achieve, see and do. Most important to me is my creativity which forms a major part of my future plans.
I'm not the kind of person who is to be found 'down the pub' or out clubbing until the early hours. That is not my thing. I enjoy going out, usual things, restaurants, cinema, etc. I also enjoy walking (love the Peak District) and cycling (but not in the Peak District, far too many hills). I feel drawn to the sea and love deserted beaches (such a cliche but oh so true) on a wind-blown winter's day. (Coldplay's Yellow video: that). I'm not a fan of sun-drenched beaches where you have to arrive as part of a 'package'. Although same Wintery beach on a sunny day and just as deserted, yes please. Other likes, Sunday papers in bed with a coffee. Costa Flat-white, Magnums but only as a treat on a day out somewhere. Love comedy like Big Bang, Frasier and Brooklyn99. Try not to watch too much TV but sometimes it's just the thing to do.
I'll listen to Classic FM one day, radio 4 the next and the next day put on a Smiths CD. Same mix of film, but don't like horror or anything where a sharp, blunt or heavy implement features heavily in the storyline. (All of this is great on your own but when shared, nothing beats that.) Also, loyal, GSOH, fit, emotionally intelligent, optimistic, don't play 'mind games', great believer in compromise and mutual respect plus many more things I've not listed here yet. Importantly I don't nor will I ever wear plimsolls. I don't pretend to be 21. I'm very happy with who I am and being 62. Main photo taken July 2026. If anything in the section above struck a chord then that's good as preferring the opposites would probably mean things wouldn't work out too well. If you like clubbing to 3:00am then I'm unlikely to be your type. Chemistry is important and usually just a quick chat can be enough to tell if minds are compatible which for me means a lot. I suppose there has to be a little physical attraction too. You will be intelligent, bright, enjoy a wander around a museum or an art gallery but also happy to try something new. Sometimes impulsive.. Want to discuss the news of the day over breakfast (not every day!) Interested in what happens in the World from a news perspective but also from 'what's in the Universe' perspective. Maybe that doesn't make sense but I think it comes back to having a bright mind that still has a fascination with anything and everything. You'll know the difference between their, there and they're. You'll know what an apostrophe is and how to use it. Probably never used the acronym LOL in any communication you've ever made to anyone and spell every word in your text messages. Be passionate, deep thinking, at times a very shallow-thinker, appreciate a dry sense of humour. I read in another profile about 'how you talk to waiters'. There is a lot to be understood about a person from the way you would do that. Politically, you're likely to be left-of-centre. Appreciate every day you get on the planet. Take nothing for granted. Look forward to having a caring, intimate, sensual relationship with someone you love deeply. Enjoy a well-made coffee. Appreciate that little leaf shape thing they do in the froth when a barista has made one for you. Like to keep in shape but not obsessesed with it. Another phrase I read from another profile of a very bright person on here, 'reserved in your judgement of others'. Holding hands. Live your life with honesty and integrity.
